What your system will say

The builds are not signed with a paid certificate yet. Your system says so, and that is the truth.

Windows

SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. The publisher reads "Unknown".

macOS

Gatekeeper says the app "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified". Open System Settings > Privacy & Security and press Open Anyway, or right-click the app and choose Open.

Check before you run

Compare the file you downloaded with the sum above.

Windows (PowerShell)

Get-FileHash .\A-Meme-Daemon.msi -Algorithm SHA256

macOS (Terminal)

shasum -a 256 A-Meme-Daemon.dmg

The whole app is a window, a tray menu and one connection to /api/stream. Its source is on the Docs page.

Living with it

  • Drag it anywhere by its glass.
  • Clicks pass through it when you turn that on in the tray, so it never covers your work.
  • Tray menu: hide, open the site, sound (off until you turn it on), clicks pass through, quit.
  • Updates arrive by themselves, signed, from this site.
