How it works
One small demon, one number that keeps it alive, and only trades to move it. No clock, no hunger by the hour.
In three steps
1Buys feed it
Every $AMD buy drops food into the bowl and the demon grows with what it ate.
2Sells starve it
Every sell takes food out. At zero the demon dies right on your screen.
3Death burns $AMD
The keeper buys $AMD with half the death pot and burns it. The next buy hatches a new one.
Satiety
A number from 0 to 100. A new generation starts at 50.
| Event | Satiety |
|---|---|
| Buy | + min(30, SOL x 20) |
| Sell | - min(40, SOL x 25) |
| The keeper's own buyback | no change, it is not a trade |
| Time passing | no change, ever |
A full demon (100) survives any single sell: the most one sell can take is 40.
Growth and moods
Size comes from everything this generation ate.
| Eaten in its life | Size |
|---|---|
| 0 SOL | 1 |
| 2 SOL | 2 |
| 5 SOL | 3 |
| 12 SOL | 4 |
| 25 SOL | 5 |
A buy eats; a buy of 1 SOL or more is a feast with a hop. Five buys in a row with no sell: it dances. A sell drops crumbs and it turns its back; a sell over 1 SOL makes it faint.
Death and the burn
When a sell takes satiety to 0, generation N dies. It stays in the glass as a ghost until the next buy. The keeper then buys back $AMD with 50% of the death pot and burns all of it with an SPL burn and a memo:
amd death <N> <SOL spent> <tokens burned>
Sells to a ghost change nothing. The first buy after a death hatches generation N+1.
Where the money comes from
The $AMD creator fees stay on the owner's wallet, and the owner forwards them to the keeper. Everything above the keeper's 0.05 SOL reserve for network fees is split:
| Share | Goes to |
|---|---|
| 70% | the death pot: half of it burns at every death |
| 20% | the burn bucket: each full 1 SOL buys back and burns, memo amd burn <SOL> <tokens> |
| 10% | the work: server, builds, hosting |
The genome
Every look comes from the buy that hatched it.
Take the signature of that buy as text and hash it with SHA-256. The first five bytes pick the look:
| Byte | Trait | Choices |
|---|---|---|
| 0 mod 8 | Colour | violet, tangerine, mint, sky, rose, lime, coral, slate |
| 1 mod 5 | Horns | stubby, curled, spiked, antlers, one horn |
| 2 mod 6 | Eyes | round, sleepy, wide, squinting, starry, odd |
| 3 mod 4 | Tail | arrow, curl, tuft, zigzag |
| 4 mod 4 | Character | lazybones, glutton, worrier, brat |
The wallet of that buy is written in the book as the one who hatched it. It gets no reward.
Characters
- Lazybones naps between trades and walks slowly.
- Glutton keeps checking the bowl.
- Worrier jitters and sweats.
- Brat sticks its tongue out at you.
The app has no wallet
The desktop app and the pet page only read. They open one connection to /api/stream and draw what comes: trades, satiety, the generation and its genome. There are no keys, no wallet connection and nothing to sign inside them.
The builds are unsigned for now, so Windows and macOS warn before the first start. Every build carries its SHA-256 on the Download page.
The app source
The whole desktop app, as it is built:
- src-tauri/src/main.rs: the window, the tray, click-through, the updater
- src-tauri/tauri.conf.json: the transparent always-on-top window, the update key
- src-tauri/Cargo.toml: every dependency
- ui/index.html and ui/app.js: the glass and the stream
$AMD is a memecoin with no promise of value. Its demon dies when people sell, and so can the price: only put in what you can lose entirely.
